Show/Tell 05:01
Dishes piling up everywhere Lazy is as lazy does Dishwasher's broken Running out of clean plates They're not going to wash themselves boy They're not going to wash themselves... I wish that I could Show you my soul I wish I could tell you how much I love this place I wish that I could Show you my heart I wish I could tell you how much I love this world Clothes piling up everywhere Lazy is as lazy does Washing machine's broken Running out of clean shirts They're not going to wash themselves boy They're not going to wash themselves... I wish that I could Show you my soul I wish I could tell you how much I love this place I wish that I could Show you my heart I wish I could tell you how much I love this world Problems piling up everywhere Lazy is as lazy does My will is broken Running out of time They're not going to fix themselves boy They're not going to fix themsleves... I wish that I could Show you my soul I wish I could tell you how much I love this place I wish that I could Show you my heart I wish I could tell you how much I love this world Show you... Tell you...

Carey 03:35
Carey what happened to your big time plans Did you run with your dreams, or sit on your hands? Did you make it? Did you leave town? Or did you just make babies with some clown? I remember you well That smile was the first thing I'd see The big shy boy with few friends But you always had time for me Growing up can be so cruel But you were always so kind My dad said you were a distant cousin So love was out of my mind Carey what happened to your big time plans Did you run with your dreams, or sit on your hands? Did you make it? Did you leave town? Or did you just make babies with some clown? I remember at lunchtime You sat with me and my friends You could have sat with the popular kids But you were cooler than them You used to talk of the future Getting out of our tiny town Making your way in the big world Carey where are you now? Carey what happened to your big time plans Did you run with your dreams, or sit on your hands? Did you make it? Did you leave town? Or did you just make babies with some clown? I heard you got married Not long after you got out Did you settle, forget your dreams Or did you make them happen somehow? Carey what happened to your big time plans Did you run with your dreams, or sit on your hands? Did you make it? Did you leave town? Or did you just make babies with some clown?

There she goes again talking to the dead, She sees so much I can't understand, I wonder if it's all in her head, This all seems so real to her, but I'm here and my camera too She always sees those dead guys, but with me she looks right through... With me she looks right through... Hey, hey, Dead Files girl With your pale white skin and your bright red smile Hey, hey, Dead Files girl I'm the one you should be talking to, not those dead guys Hey, hey, Dead Files girl They can't hold you, they can't love you, but I can, I can... She's making strange hand gestures, and those weird cute faces I clean out all the pictures before she goes to all of these places There's an angry shadow guy she says he died of cancer I ask her lots of questions but she never seems to answer She never seems to answer... Hey, hey, Dead Files girl With your pale white skin and your bright red smile Hey, hey, Dead Files girl I'm the one you should be talking to, not those dead guys Hey, hey, Dead Files girl They can't hold you, they can't love you, but I can, I can... Bridge: I've got a love, burning bright Why can't I just tell you how I feel? Why don't you stay with me tonight I can show you so much that's real... Now she's hanging out with Steve, he's got a scary New York accent He's the kind who'd kill you , and make it look like an accident Former homicide detective, look at the size of that police ring I guess I'll go clean the next place, I wish she could hear my heart sing... hear my heart sing.... Hey, hey, Dead Files girl With your pale white skin and your bright red smile Hey, hey, Dead Files girl I'm the one you should be talking to, not those dead guys Hey, hey, Dead Files girl They can't hold you, they can't love you, but I can, I can...

Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie You've been wasting time Standing by the wall All alone in your own zone But you look like the queen of the ball Come over here baby, the doctor will prescribe The best medicine of all Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Now don't that feel better, Now that you are moving? Sliding your feet, swinging your seat Don't that feel so soothing? Come over here baby, I think I need to dance Let's get down to some grooving... Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie... Boogie Now hold it Now move it Now hold it Now shake it Now hold it Now boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie Get your boogie on the dance floor and boogie

They're nickle and diming me to death They're nickle and diming me to death If you're looking for fairness don't hold your breath They're nickle and diming me to death Let me tell you a story About a greedy politician He's got his hand in the till Never get his fill Can't get enough of those hundred-dollar bills He got elected On a pile of empty promises He's real good at telling lies While talking out the sides Of his mouth while poor people die chorus Let me tell you a story About a greedy businessman He's polluting the air Causing problems everywhere While he's sipping champagne in his lair He wants power He wants complete control He makes all your stuff Tells you, you don't have enough And if you don't like it he gets rough chorus Let me tell you a story About a lazy consumer He's buying all their crap He believes in bootstraps But at their table he's left eating scraps He believes in the system That's consuming his soul He wants more and more But it's making him poor He's so blind he can't see the door chorus

There's a devil in the coke machine Up on the third floor I don't wanna get sodas From there anymore How it got possessed nobody knows Maybe a witch lost her change when her diet coke wouldn't come out the little door Now my buddy he was working At the Peabody late at night When he heard that coke machine moaning It gave him an awful fright There's a devil in the coke machine Up on the third floor You know I don't wanna get sodas from there anymore

Waiting at this station for the 9:30 bus Cause she's coming home again She's been gone so long I've been down and missing her I knew why she had to leave But it didn't ease the pain So I sit here on this bench With a man who smells homeless A mother and her children I dont know what to tell you So I'll just tell you that I need you I want you I love you Time spins out slowly for me and For the man leaning on the wall Across the way from me holding a paper coffee cup He's got a greasy neck and obviously dyed-black hair "I wouldn't trust my child with him" I think to myself judgementally The homeless man sits up and smiles A big missing-teeth grin at me and I try to ignore him Where is that bus? I dont know what to tell you So I'll just tell you that I need you I want you I love you The youngest child wakes up and cries While the mother tries to ease his dismay The greasy man walks over to The smelly homeless man and he Hands him his coffee cup and a twenty Says, "Take care, pal, I've been there too." I can barely hear the announcement Over the sound of my guilty conscience "The 9:30 bus has been delayed" I dont know what to tell you So I'll just tell you that I need you I want you I love you The bus finally arrives at 10:25 and I wade to find her through the departing flow She's second-to-last off the bus but she's always first to me I give her a hug like I haven't seen her in a year Even though it's only been a week She smiles that toothy grin that first caught my eye so long ago And it's love at first sight all over again We drive home in silence, me holding her hand While she leans her head on my shoulder And everything is right in my little world I dont know what to tell you So I'll just tell you that I need you I want you I love you

Saw you dancing on top of the world You looked so beautiful to me Reminded me of a girl I once knew Someone I used to see Would you be my alternative girl? One unlike all the others Would you be my alternative girl? More than a friend, not just a lover Oh Natalie These are the days I won't remember But the times I can't forget If I can't get through to you somehow That would be worst regret Would you be my alternative girl? One unlike all the others Would you be my alternative girl? More than a friend, not just a lover Oh Natalie Now she's gone and in her place Some screechy guy with a blonde mane Flashy girls, loud guitars Oh Natalie, it ain't the same Would you be my alternative girl? One unlike all the others Would you be my alternative girl? More than a friend, not just a lover Oh Natalie (repeat and fade)

It gives me shivers It gives me the shakes It makes me quiver Til I don't know how much more I can take It makes me worry It makes me fret It makes me hurry And I try to forget There's a devil in your heart And an angel on your lips You try to tear my world apart Then you give me the slip There's an angel in your words And a devil in your soul I can't believe all these people They've given you control You're always smiling Giving hands a shake You're so beguiling You're a low-down-dirty snake Your words are so sweet Your deeds are just the opposite Your greed is complete You're taking all that you can get There's a devil in your heart And an angel on your lips You try to tear my world apart Then you give me the slip There's an angel in your words And a devil in your soul I can't believe all these people They've given you control You try to live and learn From mistakes of the past How soon we forget Will these memories ever last? There's a devil in your heart And an angel on your lips You try to tear my world apart Then you give me the slip There's an angel in your words And a devil in your soul I can't believe all these people They've given you control
